The Rapid Fire Book Tag

1. E-Book or physical book?

I like how convenient e-books are, but when I just want to relax at home, I prefer holding a physical book in my hands. And nothing beats the smell of a pysical book!

2. Paperback or hardback?

I don’t really have a preference. Hardbacks are prettier on the shelves, but paperbacks are a bit easier to hold when reading.

3. Online or in-store book shopping?

If I know exactly what I want, I’ll order online. But if I want to browse, I prefer going to a bookstore.

4. Trilogies or series?

It obviously depends on the story, but I prefer series in most cases. I just can’t get enough of the characters!

5. Heroes or villains?

Heroes, but I also enjoy a villain with a twist.

6. A book you want everyone to read?

The Cloud Roads, by Martha Wells. I was pleasantly surprised by this book!

7. Recommend an underrated book?

Surrender, by Rhiannon Paille. I had never heard of this book before buying it in a bundle (on Humble Bundle) and I fell in love with it immediately.

8. The last book you finished?

Twenty Years After, by Alexandre Dumas

9. The last book you bought?

The Octunnumi. I saw a Tiktok of someone unboxing it and it looked so mysterious that I had to have it.

10. Weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark?

Having a bookish mother ensured that I would never be in need of a bookmark. I always had one nearby, so I never had to use something weird as a bookmark.

11. Used books: yes or no?

I prefer new books. Used books sadly tend to be in a bad shape.

12. Top three favourite genres?

Young Adult, Fantasy and Action&Adventure

13. Borrow or buy?

I prefer buying. That way I can refer back to it anytime I wonder something about the story.

14. Characters or plot?

You can’t have one without the other. What’s a good plot without good characters? And what are good characters without a good plot?

15. Long or short books?

Obviously depends on the story, but I’ve always loved long books. Like I said earlier, I just can’t get enough of the characters!

16. Long or short chapters?

I actually don’t have a preference on that one.

17. Name the first three books you think of...

The Guardian, by Erin Lee, Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings series

18. Books that makes you laugh or cry?

The Ferryman and the Flame series by Rhiannon Paille made me cry so much. It was a beautiful story. Just wish I could get my hands on the last book!

19. Our world or fictional worlds?

Fictional worlds

20. Audiobooks: yes or no?

Nothing against them, but it’s a no for me. I’m a visual person. If I try to listen to a book, I won’t remember the story at all.

21. Do you ever judge a book by its cover?

All the time! Who doesn’t?

22. Book to movie or book to tv adaptations?

Tv adaptations have the possibility of showing more details from the books, but it depends on the books.

23. A movie or tv-show you preferred to its book?

I’m currently going through the trilogy of D’Artagnan’s Romances and watching The Musketeers tv-show, and I gotta say, I prefer the tv show. I’m not sure it counts, though, since they’re almost completely re-inventing the story. Other than that, I’ve always prefered the books so far, sadly.

24. Series or standalones?

Again, nothing against standalones, I enjoy them from time to time, but I prefer series.
