You are inside the mind of someone and play as Dusty as he tries to get his scrapbook back from a Nightmare with Piper the bird. To get it back, Dusty needs to defeat other Nightmares in the left and right side of the brain. You can collect memories on the way to piece together the person’s life and by doing so you can figure out whose brain you’re in.
The story is much more serious than what I was expecting. When I saw the pictures of the game, it looked like a fun colorful game, but the beginning of the game immediately told me it had a more serious story than I thought. It was a very interesting story that teaches very good things.
Dusty is a good character for this game. At first he didn’t want to go on an adventure with Piper, but then his scrapbook got stolen so he went after it. Throughout the game he still complains about being too old or out of shape for this, but you can slowly see some growth in his character. The Nightmares each had a theme they embodied perfectly. All in all, the characters were all well thought off and very well executed.
The gameplay was so much fun. Very simple mechanics with fun puzzles. The puzzles aren’t too complicated, but it’s still satisfying when you figure it out.
All things considered, I would give this game a 4 out of 5.
