This month's theme is A Study in Shadows and here's a reminder on what the book description was:
"Our October book follows a Deaf student with a connection to the afterlife and what occurs when she is accepted into a prestigious (and supernatural) program at the university. This book is truly perfect for fans of dark academia and atmospheric spooky vibes!"
Just like last month, this month's box was the perfect opportunity to get out of my comfort zone in what genres I read. I'm really interested to get into these books since I've never read spooky stuff. I usualy don't enjoy horror movies because I get scared easily, so I'm really curious to see if it'll be the same with books!
Here's what this box contained:
A beautiful bento box inspired by Atlas Six and designed by @paperbackbones
A glasses case designed by Janine Lecour and inspired by If We Were Villains
An ID case inspired by Zodiac Academy and deigned by Team OwlCrate
A wooden bookmark inspired by A Lesson in Vengeance and The Secret History, designed by @thebitterseason
Another addition to OwlCrate Classics Collection: Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden, with a cover illustrated by @rena.illustration
This month's pin inspired by Gallant
The book of the month: The Whispering Dark written by Kelly Andrew
I've never heard of The Secret Garden so I'm really curious to know what this classic book is about! I've also never see a glasses case like this before. I'm a bit skeptical that it won't break my glasses, but I do see myself maybe using it as a wallet instead. It seems perfect to hold cards.
For next month, the theme is The Dark Heart of the Forest. I'm actually surprised the November theme is spooky again. I thought for sure we would delve into a more festive theme. I'm curious to see what the book is! Here's it's description:
"Our November book features monsters and mayhem in a forest where nothing appears as it seems. Atmospheric and spooky, this book is the perfect autumn read for those who love wicked schemes and wild woods!"
You can find more information on what will be in the box in this community blog post.
