Workin' Moms - Season 5 Review

This season, we follow Kate as she finds herself a new mentor and tries to expand her company. Anne is trying to get her new book published while trying to get used to life in Cochrane. Meanwhile, Frankie is finding it hard to bond with her girlfriend's son and so she dives deep into her real estate agent role. Finally, Jenny struggles to keep her lover all to herself.

SPOILER ALERT

If you don't want details of this season to be spoiled, do not read until the end of the spoiler alert.

This season was frustrating for me in so many ways. Kate is suddenly trying to become her mentor, going as far as dressing and talking like her, and it's very cringy to watch. Especially since her mentor is not a good person at all. Jenny is just being a real bitch. At first she doesn't want to admit her lover means more to her than she wanted to, and when she does finally admit it to herself, she pretends to be pregnant to keep him to herself without sharing. Then Anne and Frankie are almost like flies on the walls. Barely anything exciting happens to them. Yes, Anne publishes her book and there's this whole thing with her husband punching a kid (which he deserves in my opinion), but other than that, it just felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Anne and Frankie this season.

Also, the two big reveals at the end of the season were completely predictable. Nathan kept talking about his ex and we learn at the end that they broke up because she wanted kids and he thought they were too young. Well "shocker"! Turns out she was actually pregnant and had his baby! Then Jenny's big reveal. She pretended to be pregnant to keep her man all to herself, well turns out she was actually pregnant! Wow! Completely predictable.

I'm still going to watch next season, because I'm still curious to know what'll happen. I'm just really sad that this season was so frustrating and predictable

SPOILER ALERT OVER

All in all, I'm sad to say that I give this season a 2 out of 5. It wasn't bad enough for me to not want to watch next season, but it wasn't good enough for me to ignore the frustrating and predictable parts.
