New 2022 Reading Goal

Remember at the beginning of the year when I said I wanted to read 6 books this year? I had set that goal because it was the one I had set last year and hadn't achieved so I thought if I put a bit more effort this year I would manage to read those 6 books. Well, we are now near the end of April and I have completely smashed that goal. I have read 8 books so far hahaha.

I had planned to read The Octunnumi Fosbit Files Prologue by Trevor Alan Foris, The Guardian by Erin Lee and the Patternmaster series by Octavia E. Butler. The 6th book was left in the air since I hadn't anything else I really wanted to read so I planned on figuring out what I wanted to read next once I had finished the first 5 books. My SO helped me figure out what came next and it's thanks to him that I'm going through so many books this year. He bought me From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout and A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair for Valentine's Day.

For a bit of context, The Octunnumi Fosbit Files Prologue, The Guardian, From Blood and Ash and A Touch of Darkness are all physical books, while the Patternist series is on Kindle. Since I was super excited to get into my two new books, I started reading the Patternist series at the same time as The Octunnumi and The Guardian. I would read on my cellphone when I didn't have anything to do at work or when I was rocking my daughter. Then I would switch to the physical book for an hour or two before bed. That way, I would basically finish two books in a month.

This means that I've completely finished reading what I had planned to read this year. All 5 of them. You can read my review of The Guardian here, of Mind of my Mind here and of The Octunnumi here. The reviews for the other books are coming. The 6th book became From Blood and Ash, which I've already finished. Then I jumped into A Touch of Darkness. I also finally found the final two books on Kindle of a series I'd been reading a long while ago. So the 8th book is actually me re-reading this series to get back into it. I counted how many books I had to read in this series, plus the ones left in Blood and Ash and Hades x Persephone and made that my new goal. Which means that my new goal is now 20 books (21 on Goodreads because of that book I started last year, but ended this year that I'm not counting). It would actually be 18 if I was only counting the books I have yet to read in the three series I have started, but I wanted to round it up to an even 20. So let's see the new list of books in my 2022 TBR!
